NRM Electoral Commission Warns Adjumani West Aspirants Against Violence and Electoral Misconduct

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has issued a strong warning to aspirants contesting the Adjumani West by-election, urging them to maintain peace and adhere to the party’s electoral guidelines ahead of this week’s primaries.

Speaking at a press conference, NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi cautioned aspirants against violence, intimidation, bribery, sectarianism, and any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.

Dr. Tanga said the Commission would take firm disciplinary action against anyone found engaging in electoral misconduct. He warned that credible evidence of attempts to rig the primaries, incite violence, influence voters through bribery, or interfere with the process could result in serious sanctions, including disqualification from the race.

The Commission has therefore called on all aspirants and their supporters to respect the electoral process and allow voters to freely choose their preferred party flagbearer.

With the primaries approaching, the NRM Electoral Commission says it remains committed to conducting a peaceful, transparent, and orderly process in Adjumani West.
